Care
To ensure high longevity and best performance from your purchase always follow the care advice

Shirts
  • Normal machine wash on cold or warm cycle.  Disperse washing powders/solutions evenly and commence washing immediately.
  • Wash similar colours together.
  • Never add bleach to coloured, striped or checked shirts.
  • For stubborn stains around collars and cuffs soak overnight in cold water.
  • Hang shirts immediately after washing or lie flat away from direct sunlight.
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Iron with hot steam iron while damp. The assistance of an ironing agent may also be useful.  The collars and cuffs include quality fusibles and must be pressed carefully preferably with a protective cloth.

Silk Ties
Determining the quality of your silk tie

  • Prices normally relate to the quality of silk, (heavier silks are usually more expensive), quality of linings (synthetic or wool/ cotton), hand or machine made.
  • High volume machine made ties are less expensive and often consist of lightweight silks and synthetic linings. They don’t always sit flat, may twist and leave crush marks when the knot is removed.
  • A properly manufactured silk tie will be handmade (although not absolutely necessary), from rich quality silk fabric, wool/cotton linings and the latest textile designs and colours.

Wearing and removing your silk tie

  • The silk tie is a delicate accessory and should not be pulled or stretched.
  • When knotting your tie, be careful not to pull too hard and make a small, tight knot. It will be difficult to remove, possibly break a thread, leave unsightly crush marks and could damage the linings and the silk.
  • You may notice a looped thread towards the end of the “tail” where the tie has been “tied off”. Do not remove this thread as it is intended to provide elasticity and movement.
  • Ties should be rolled or hung after use. NEVER pull a loose thread or snag on a tie. These can be trimmed with sharp scissors.
  • Do not wet, rub or iron your tie. Marks are best removed by a qualified dry-cleaner, but always remember to request the tie be steam cleaned and never pressed.
  • Certain fabric constructions are more prone to “snagging” so be careful with sharp edges, rubbing, etc. It does not mean the fabric is faulty, it is simply a characteristic of the design.
